I've recently had 3 knee operations in 18 months which were all carried out by Mr Mersich. My knees now feel pain and issue free for the first time in 35 years. I found Mr Mersich to be very friendly, approachable and personable. He also took time to answer my questions and fully explain my issues, the operations and the corrective action he had taken.

I would, and already have, recommended Mr Mersich as the Consultant of choice for knee replacement surgery or hip replacement surgery at the Park Hospital, Nottinghamshire, based on my personal experience during the last 12 months. At my first consultation on meeting Mr Mersich it was very clear to me that he immediately understood the issues I was facing as a result of many years suffering from arthritic pain in both knees and right hip. The first consultation was to review actions required for the left knee. Mr Mersich has a friendly and trusting demeanour which enabled me to be open with him immediately. He also has a sense of humour which I found refreshing and a straightforward manner of giving advice, in my case regarding weight loss prior to potential surgery! The subsequent operation to replace the knee was a great success and the post operative recovery went very well with no pain at all enabling me to resume a better lifestyle within 6 weeks. However, following this surgery it was apparent to Mr Mersich that whilst the knee had been addressed, I was still struggling due to significant problems associated with the right hip. He immediately requested x-rays to establish the extent of the damage and, again in his straightforward manner, insisted upon expediting a total hip replacement as soon as possible. As a patient I felt both totally cared for and that Mr Mersich had my best interests at heart. Another successful operation and recovery and my mobility is much improved. After years of pain both procedures have been like a miracle to me and I owe my better quality of life directly to the care shown by Mr Mersich and his support team. Another knee to address but I am confident that whatever Mr Mersich decides is the best option it will work out great for me. I have already been asked who was my consultant as my friends and colleagues have been so impressed with my recovery. I have already recommended Mr Mersich on a number of occasions.

I was impressed by my first meeting with Mr Mersich, after being in total agony for a year with my worn out hip joint and a previous nhs surgeon refusing to operate because I was overweight and refusing to take into consideration, not even listening to why I was struggling and reduced to an invalid I found Mr Mersich most sympathetic. My operation was carried out within 8 weeks of my initial appointment with quick and professional care all the way.I am highly delighted with the outcome of my hip replacement and the work carried out by Mr Mersich whom I would have no hesitating to anyone requiring orthopaedic surgery as his work is 1st class.
